Pennridge Unplugged is a grassroots group working toward more intentional technology use at home and in school. We connect families, share resources, and advocate for common-sense approaches to screens and devices in our kids' lives.
The research is clear — rising anxiety, depression, sleep disruption, and lost childhood experiences are all linked to early and excessive screen use. And in classrooms, the overuse of devices is undermining focus, learning, and the teacher-student relationships our kids need.
But it's hard to push for change alone — whether that's setting boundaries at home when every other kid has a smartphone, or asking your school district to rethink how technology is used in the classroom.
That's why Pennridge Unplugged exists. We're stronger together. We're parents and community members advocating for more intentional technology use both at home and in our schools.

We bring families together to share experiences, practical resources, and ideas for navigating technology at home. That can mean delaying smartphones and social media, modeling healthier digital habits, and creating more opportunities for kids to build independence, develop real-world skills, and simply play.

Partner with families, educators, and school leaders to support evidence-based, developmentally appropriate technology policies. We help bring research, family perspectives, and open conversation into decisions about how technology is used in our schools, with students' learning, well-being, and relationships at the center.
Create more opportunities for kids, families, and neighbors to connect, learn, and belong.
Work with schools, community organizations, and businesses to strengthen real-world connection and intentional technology use. Through phone-free spaces, community book clubs, conversations, and shared learning, we can make it easier for families to engage with one another and build a more connected community.
